Underpinning the excellent academic results and ethos of the school are the strong values that Upton House is a family and all of the school community can feel happy and listened to.

From walking in the front door the atmosphere hits you straight away, the warmth, the welcome, the happy smiling children and staff. From the youngest to the oldest, the children are encouraged to be resilient and individual. A strong part of the curriculum are activities to empower the children to develop the emotional life skills they need for the wider world.

Upton House is a happy, nurturing school. Why would you want to go anywhere else?

PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) follows a cross curricular path and builds on work year on year. The children are taught skills including building relationships, dealing with conflict, staying calm at exam time, keeping safe online and thinking about keeping themselves happy on the inside as well as on the outside.

The staff know the children and parents extremely well and work in harmony to provide the best education possible and most importantly to fill Upton with happy children, who want to achieve and support each other. The older children spend time with the youngest, all children are accepting of each other and are keen to share experiences. The older girls have the opportunity to take part in well-being sessions, which gives them strategies to deal with a range of emotions. Parents and staff sessions have proved successful too. The staff act as mentors to any child who feels they need some help and the open-door policy encourages parents to work alongside the staff with any concerns.
