We take great pride in the extensive facilities and equipment we offer our pupils. Everything provided is to ensure children are learning with the very best tools whilst also finding great enjoyment in their school life.

Sports

Our sport facilities have been revamped with three all-weather multisport floodlit courts that can be used to train in netball, tennis and hockey. This compliments our all-weather astroturf garden ensuring all year access for playtime and sports. It also has lights, and it is the perfect size for 5-a-side football and it provides the setting for our Little Upton Sports Day in the summer.

We have expanded our incredible sports facilities into Windsor Great Park at The York Club - Upton House’ official home ground where we host training sessions in football, rugby and cricket, competitive fixtures, tournaments and family events, providing endless space for to enjoy.

Upton also has use of St George’s Ascot and Eton College swimming pools, two of the most high-class swimming facilities in the local area, and this has played a huge part in the school’s meteoric rise in their swimming successes.

Our school hall, the Wallace Hall, is a great space for indoor PE lessons. The hall includes numerous pieces of gym equipment, an assault frame, and mats. We do also offer fencing and judo clubs with specialist teachers.

Dance and Drama are also very important at Upton, above our Little Upton Nursery is a Dance and Drama studio comprising of a dance floor, mirrors, and a barre.

Technology: Arts & Music

Technology is integrated into all areas of the curriculum and pupils have access to iPads to use within the classroom. The children have the opportunity to develop their coding skills and also enjoy making use of the green screen for digital projects. We have a professional Apple Mac recording studio that is used regularly during music technology lessons to record pupils’ vocals or instrumental performances to be used within their music technology projects as well as for the production of digital portfolios. The sound studio is linked to the music room next door and pupils and staff have recorded music and even delivered live broadcasts during assemblies from the studio.

We aim to create as many cross-curricular links as possible to give children ample time to consolidate their subject knowledge so they can truly achieve their full potential. Design technology is also offered at Upton and the children have the chance to plan, design, develop and create a variety of functioning objects built for a particular purpose.

Every classroom is fitted with an interactive screen that provides a modern basis for interactive learning. The boards can link to our iPads, thus providing further engagement. Children are encouraged to take part using the extensive and powerful tools offered by these devices.

Our music room is where daily music lessons take place and where our five school choirs rehearse every week and where you will find a range of instruments including pianos, keyboards, guitars, violins, flutes, cellos, ukuleles and recorders. We have separate music rooms where children are taught music individually. These lessons include violin, piano, singing, guitar, cello, brass and flute.

The chroma (green) screen delivers the backdrop to many media and drama lessons as pupils perform with the chroma screen, before editing their own backgrounds and special effects afterwards with iPads.

Broadcasting Suite

Our onsite live streamed events are delivered from our dedicated Broadcasting Suite enabling us to provide highly produced events using green screen technology across multiple halls and studios. In addition to delivering digitised events, we also stream things like Musical Soirees and School Performances across multiple studios providing a highly immersive experience to viewers.
