The RSHE curriculum is a priority for us as the happiness of every child is always at the heart of everything we do here at Upton. RSHE is complemented by our PSHE and Wellbeing curriculum in order to nurture and care for your children.

Through our RSHE curriculum, children will be taught learning objectives which grow in complexity suitable for their age group.

We recognise that we need to equip our children with the knowledge and skills to embrace the challenges of creating a happy and successful adult life. We aim to empower them through our teaching, to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships and guide them in building their self-efficacy.

Our hope is that your children feel confident to put this knowledge into practice as they develop the capacity to make sound decisions when facing risks, challenges, and complex contexts. We note that everyone faces difficult situations in their lives, and that these lessons can support young people to develop resilience, to know how and when to ask for help, and to know where to access support.

As always, at Upton, we strive to deliver exceptional teaching and we recognise the value of providing high quality, evidence-based and age-appropriate teaching of these subjects as they can help prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of adult life.
